Cathy Drummond is a well known entertainer throughout most of Queensland with 20 years experience. The Byrne Sisters Jacinta (13) and Stevie (9) are from Thargomindah and Jacinta was a joint winner of the busking competition at Cully Fest 2016.
Cathy Drummond is a renowned performer travelling thousands of kilometres each year entertaining audiences with her unique style and rich soulful voice. Her effervescent personality is "larger than life". Lee Kernaghan's management spotted her talents immediately when Lee travelled the Western Queensland leg of his "Pass the Hat Around" Tour in 1998. Cathy wowed Lee's audience in Charleville and was asked to join the show for the remainder of the Queensland tour.
After the "Raise Your Spirits" parties in December 2002, Stan Wallace of Queensland Country Life, wrote "Cathy held the audience in the palm of her hand with a great personality and voice. We were fortunate to be in her company as she is a top act."
Although Cathy's roots are in country music, her tastes are diversified. Throughout the course of Cathy's show you will be entertained with contemporary ballads, jazz & country with an original song occasionally thrown in.
Cathy Drummond performs a cabaret style show monthly at the Toowoomba Sports Club & Oakey RSL & she entertains regularly throughout South East Queensland. Cathy loves to head to western Queensland where she has performed at functions in towns such as Charleville, Quilpie, Windorah, Betoota, Birdsvile, Eulo and Thargomindah. Thargomindah is where Cathy Drummond met the Byrne Sisters Jacinta and Stevie two very talented young ladies with very unique but individual voices.
Jacinta competed and performed at Cully Fest 2016 and Cathy befriended the music loving Byrne family over the years of performing in Thargo. Jacinta and Stevie Byrne have been having regular singing lessons via Skype with Cathy Drummond who is also a singing teacher since February 2016.
With the isolation of living is a remote rural location like Thargomindah which is 900km west of Toowoomba it is difficult and expensive for regular face to face tuition therefore technology like Skype has been a fabulous tool to link the Byrne Sisters to advance their talents.
