School Excursion Program Introduction to Teachers Cully Fest

Dear Educators,

We are writing to you today to inform you of an invaluable opportunity for your students, of all ages, to benefit from our event Cully Fest being held at Toowoomba Showgrounds 17-19 November 2017 with 9am-3pm Friday 17 Nov being dedicated to a unique, interactive, fun School Excursion Program.

Cully Fest School Excursion Program Introduction to Teachers

Cully Fest is an Outback & Aboriginal Folk Festival organised by Out the Back Australia Pty Ltd and aims to provide attendees with a truly unforgettable hands on interactive educational experience.

This is the second year of the festival and given the tremendous interaction and engagement with youth in 2016 we decided to develop a School Excursion Program.

The Cully Fest Schools Excursion Program will be offered;

  • 9am – 3pm Friday 17 November 2017 Toowoomba Showgrounds
  • If demand is there we may consider adding 9am – 3pm Thursday 16 November 2017 Toowoomba Showgrounds (If this date is more convenient for your school please make note in the other information section of the form so we can measure the demand)

We encourage you and your students to be part of this invaluable experience.  Involvement in Cully Fest 2017 School Excursion Program provides schools the tools to facilitate several of the cross-curriculum priorities with the most challenging being;

For all students to engage in reconciliation, respect and recognition of the world’s oldest continuous living cultures through learning and experiencing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures as mandated by ACARA

Cully Fest is all about sharing indigenous and non-indigenous human stories through artistic and creative means.

Australia is known around the world to have one of the oldest and most fascinating indigenous culture. This culture is largely based around the people’s connection with the land which is reinforced through indigenous art, music, dance, food and story-telling.

At Cully Fest we take this culture out of the traditional museums and back to the very place that inspired it — to the people and the natural environment, and we let you taste, smell, touch and see it all first hand.

School groups will be able to choose between a pre-set itinerary for each class or teachers can choose from a list (below) of class appropriate options to build your own itinerary for the day. For just $20 per student both options include;
