Toowoomba local, Clay Hall just landed his first open bull ride victory at the Boo Boogie Bash Stock Rodeo in Albany.

After an illustrious junior career on the Australian circuit, Clay is now kicking up dust in America. Clay left Australia this year with a college bull riding scholarship and has got the ball rolling early.

This was Clay’s first open level win according to father Jason, who said it’s a big step forward. “It’s a great start to his season, although it was a separate event to the college series it’s still a big confidence boost,” Mr Hall said.

“The American circuit is far bigger and more difficult then Australia’s so he’s done really well to take the win.” The 18 year old is third generation and comes from a family synonymous with the Australian outback.

For almost half a century the Hall family have supplied the Australian rodeo industry with some of the most competitive and frightening stock to ever grace the arena. Hall Rodeo is a father son duo operating out of Willow Bank Queensland that Jason said has become the most successful stock contractor in history

“Over the years we have won more then 40 bucking stock of the year awards, which include bulls, bareback horse and saddle,” Mr Hall said.

“We’ve had stock compete in every rodeo association final in Australia,” he said.

Some of Hall Rodeo’s more memorable stock includes the likes of Barn Yard and Rockstar, both winning bucking bull of the year awards. The next gen of Hall’s are currently soaring up the ranks with Clay’s younger brother Zane, a hot favourite to be the next junior champion.
